When you think about the original Star Wars trilogy you imagine the characters, amazing places and spaceships.

These were the designs and concepts created by Ralph McQuarrie.
During the mid-1970’s, George Lucas approached McQuarrie to commission artwork for A New Hope. These illustrations became the foundation for the success Star Wars was to enjoy and helped sell the idea to 20th Century Fox who were still considering whether to fund the risky movie at the time.
